Ridgebury Farm Policies
Check-In
Please check in at the office no less than 5 minutes before your session. From there, you’ll be directed to the appropriate waiting area. If this presents a hardship for you, let us know, and we’d be happy to make alternative arrangements.
Also, please note that while we hope you enjoy every moment at the farm and welcome you to relax during your family members' session, however we are not a drop-off facility. Unless expressly noted within the program or expressly approved by your therapist or trainer, please do not leave the farm during scheduled sessions.
Waiting Areas
Therapy happens in many places around the farm and even recreational areas serve therapeutic purposes. For your safety and to respect the privacy of our clients, families are welcome to relax in our designated waiting areas before or during sessions:

Viewing Areas
Viewing areas are for quiet observation of your family member’s sessions only:

Gazebo for sessions in the outdoor arena

Parent Paddock in the indoor arena

Path by Honey & Griff (upper outdoor arena)

Lower Barn Bench (by tack room)
Animal Interaction
For everyone’s safety and the well-being of our animals:

Please do not feed any animals without staff present.

Please do not touch horses unless supervised by staff.

Please do not enter Bunnytopia or the Barnyard without a staff member.

Please supervise your children at all times on the farm

We love your furry friends but for their safety and the safety of our animals, please leave all pets at home
Weather Policy
We’re so excited to be able to have expanded our temperate session spaces, whether in our indoor arena or in the other parts of the farm! For inclement weather, we will follow Ridgefield Public Schools in terms of closures and cancellations. Cancellations or reschedules will be communicated via text and email as well as being shared on our Facebook and Instagram pages, so make sure you follow us.
Ridgebury Farm reserves the right to cancel or reschedule sessions as needed for safety.
Illness Policy
To protect the health and safety of our staff and riders, please do not come if you’re not feeling well.
We ask that you stay home for 24 hours after the last fever, vomiting, or diarrhea episode (without medication).
For COVID-19, please follow current CDC guidelines regarding exposure, isolation, and masking.
Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows may be charged up to the full session cost.

We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for any changes or rescheduling.

Ridgebury Farm reserves the right to determine if a session will be mounted or unmounted for safety or clinical reasons.
Billing

Ridgebury Farm and Stables, as an out-of-network provider, does not accept health insurance nor directly bill insurance on your behalf. Payment is due at the time of scheduled services. Credit cards must be kept on file for automatic weekly processing of payment. If you are interested in receiving reimbursement for services, we highly recommend you speak to your insurance provider prior to the start of services to explore your benefits and coverage for out of network providers. Please note that all services are coded as either Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or Psychotherapy. We are happy to provide documentation for you to request reimbursement from your insurance in the form of a Superbill from a paid in full invoice receipt which will contain your specific diagnosis and procedure codes.
